look at the mess that we've made we pick ourselves undone Things weren’t right for the young sixteen year old. In the past year she had been through one of the most horrifying experience in her life. After finding out she was going to have a boy she had gotten over the fact that some stranger, some man raped her. She was past that. All she could think about was her little boy. She had already made a nursery for him. She had painted the walls blue with brown circles. The oak crib was up and filled with blue and brown blankets. She had gotten matching dressers and a diaper changing table. She had fixed it up so the room had lots of books and toys in it. Clothes filled the dresser and closet. She had cute little jackets to keep him warm in the winter. Then the most terrible thing happened. She was attacked by a vampire. Her family made it in time to save her and keep her human but she lost the baby. She was never the same after that. She couldn’t get over losing her little Nathaniel James Cullen, Nathan for short. She wouldn’t let anyone take apart the nursery that was made for him. She stayed there most of the day when she wasn’t at school or work. She didn’t want this taken away. It was like if it was then her baby boy’s death would be final, and she couldn’t handle that. She wouldn’t handle it. She was in Nathaniel’s room now her arms crossed over her chest, tears streaming down her face. She picked up the soft blue and brown polka dotted blanket from the crib and held it to her chest. She cried harder the tears pouring from her eyes. She hated this. She wanted her little boy back. She wished she had died along with her baby. She didn’t want to be alive right now. She didn’t think it was fair. No one understood that. Not even her best friend Isold understood that. She kept telling her to get over it. She had never lost a child. No one understood what she was going through. Well maybe except her grandmother, but she got adopted children and two grandchildren. She stayed there as she cried and fell onto the floor still holding the blanket. She moved into the corner next to the crib and hugged her knees to her chest. She hated this. She wanted to feel better but she couldn’t. She ran a hand through her hair moving her hair out of her face. She had no idea if anyone was home. It didn’t really matter though. She tended to stay away from people a lot except if she had to interact with them. She just didn’t feel up to it. Right now her stomach was hurting but that was normal now for her. She had to go to the dinner to get her check today at some point. After two more hours of crying she got up and put the blanket down. She went into her room and changed into some decent clothes. She ran a brush through her hair and tried to make herself look decent like she did when she went out in public. A frown still lingered on her face. That hadn’t gone away at all. She knew it would take time to get over this but she didn’t want to. She didn’t want to move on with her baby boy. When she was ready she grabbed her purse and her keys to her truck. She walked down the stairs and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. She wiped the tears from her eyes and walked out to the garage. She got in her truck and set her purse on the passenger seat and the bottle of water in the cup holder. She started the engine and backed out of the garage. She drove up the driveway and turned onto the highway. She turned on her radio as she drove through the winding road and into town. She parked near the dinner and got out of her truck. She went into the dinner and talked to the boss. She got her paycheck and went to the bank to cash it. After that she took a sip from the bottle then set it down. Sighing she sat in her truck thinking. She didn’t want to go back to the house just yet. She needed to be out of the house anyway. She bites her lower lip for a bit then started her truck. It wouldn’t crank. She sighed as she got out and looked at the engine. She used to help her Aunt Rosalie with working on engines before the whole baby incident. She just didn’t have the heart to work on them anymore. She groaned as she burnt her hand and arm on the engine. She swore and went to try to start her truck again. This time it cranked so she drove to the hospital. Her arm really hurt. Stupid humanness. She parked in the parking lot and went in asking that she be seen by Doctor Carlisle Cullen. She was taking to a room to be made to wait. She frowned as she sat there moving her legs back and forth. She hated waiting. She started to think while she waited which she didn’t want to do. A nurse came in and said it would be a little bit as Dr. Cullen had other patients. She gave Alyssa a towel with ice in it and Alyssa put it on her burned which made it hurt more. It stung and she started to cry. She hated being in pain, but that wasn’t why she was crying. She just hopped other people would think that was why she was crying. She just couldn’t stop thinking about Nathaniel. She had to get herself under control before her grandfather got there. She knew he would be able to see right through her. She sighed as she looked around the hospital room she was in. She was lying in a bed and the ice was melting onto the bed sheets as she held it to her arm. She was told to lay there and relax as she waited. Everyone in this town knew that she had been raped and then lost the baby due to another attack in the forest. They just didn’t know it was a vampire who attacked her. She hadn’t really slept in months. Sometimes members of her family would slip something into her drink to help her sleep. She knew they were all just worried about her, but that didn’t mean that they had the right to slip things into her drink, though the no sleeping was finally catching up to her. She yawned as her eyes were getting heavy. She couldn’t fall asleep now though. She was waiting for her arm to be fixed. The bed was kind of comfy though. She was lying down her head on the pillows. Finally sleep won over her and she fell into a dreamless slumber. After a while she woke up. Yawning she looked around frowning. The ice was all melted now but the cloth was still wet and laying on her arm. She sat up in the bed leaning against the pillows sitting up waiting for her grandfather. Soon he came in and fixed her arm up. They of course talked for a while. He told her to rest when she got home because the medication that he would give her can make her a bit drowsy. She headed out and, started walking, since her grandfather took her keys. She didn't want to go to school the next day but she knew they would make her. |
